Since its founding in 1986, the long-term goal of the Meta Centre has been to bring our administrative and GTA day program services together under one roof in order to better serve our clients.
Accordingly, the EOH Meta Foundation launched a $3 million “Building a Centre of Dreams” capital campaign in 2004. In the same year, we secured a wonderful new home for the Meta Centre at 401 Champagne Drive in North York. The building underwent substantial renovations in 2005 and a formal opening took place in May 2006.
The new Centre is a state of the art facility, providing up to 150 clients with a spacious environment for growth and learning. The site houses our day, evening and week-end services. Some of the rooms that facilitate these services are the snoezelen room, medical station, physiotherapy room, cafeteria, nutrition program, fitness centre, mock apartment, games room and lounge, greenhouse, theatre arts room, creative arts room, and beauty salon.
Our “Building a Centre of Dreams” capital campaign is now 60 per cent of the way toward reaching its target; we are very grateful to all our capital campaign contributors. At the same time, our goal of providing our clients with the very best facilities continues to drive our capital needs and our ongoing capital campaign.
